I love a good reading challenge. It pushes me to find books I wouldn’t normally read. It also helps me to avoid the dreaded question, “what am I going to read next?”. Last year I attempted Modern Mrs. Darcy’s 2017 Reading Challenge and I failed miserably. There were just too many other great books to read, and my reading challenge picks fell further and further down my TBR list. So this year, I’m making a second attempt. And to be honest, I’m making it easier on myself by choosing books that are already on my TBR list but just need that extra push.
I feel like every blog post I write begins with an apology and an explanation for why I haven’t blogged lately. I’ve just been so busy lately… but aren’t we all? And I feel like I have no time in my day… But I have time to scroll through instagram ad nauseam. Basically, there is no excuse. I really enjoy blogging. I love brainstorming ideas and taking pictures. But it’s not something I tend to prioritize, which is unfortunate. Does anyone else feel the same?!
During savasana at my yoga class, the instructor always finishes off with a thought provoking reading. Last week, on the first day of spring, she read from Melody Beattie’s ” Journey to the Heart”. The quote was…
“There is a purpose and value in each day of your life, in each season of your life.
Nurture your times of action, of creating, of doing, and value your quieter times of going within.
The more you study nature, the more you will learn about yourself.
Nurture and trust the seasons of you soul.”
This month is the second month I’ve shared my goals here. Partially I do this to keep track and hold myself accountable, but I also hope that it will inspire others to make their own goals and maybe provide some ideas on how to make life a little better. Here’s a little recap on my goals from March and some new goals for April!
